I love my Echo hoody, and wear it in so many different applications. I currently have two of one of their earlier versions. I personally really like the v-neck in their old version, but I am sure their current version functions the same. The Echo weighs only 2.3 oz, and has a UPF of 15, so it is nice to get a bit of sun protection. I usually wear it when I am sweating a lot, and with the fabric being so light and breathable, my sweat dries in an instant when I stop sweating. The hood fits really well under my helmet when I am climbing with it, and stays on my head while running. I've even used the little pony-tail cutout in the back and while it looks really funny, the function is super great.
The one feature that kinda gives me pause is the little fold-over sleeve glove. I suppose it gives nice protection from the sun for your hands, but I find that I usually want my hands out and about and don't tend to use that feature. The little side pocket, while it looks cool, doesn't ever serve a function for me. But maybe I am just not thinking broad enough.
PROS:
Super lightweight
Breathes incredibly well
Gives 15 UPF of sun protection
Hood is very functional
CONS:
Carries no warmth properties (but this is also a pro depending on how you use it...)
Gives no wind protection (also can be a pro)
Is 15 UPF really adequate? Some don't think so.
