Footwear

The Topo MTN Racer is another great trail shoe from the one and only Topo Designs. I can't say I love it as much as I did my Ultraventures, however... They seem to fit bigger and the heel rubs down quickly. Blisters have been dominating.

The Dynafit TLT8 Expedition is my current ski touring boot, and a really solid lightweight two buckle boot. It is great for people who have a wider forefoot.

The Topo Ultraventure was my go-to trail shoe for 2020. I tried Altras on (I was starting to fall for the Altra cult) but they didn't quite seat my heel well. Topos came to the rescue for me and I haven't looked back since.

Ahh the Mythos. A La Sportiva classic since... Forever. And for a good reason. It is a great all around shoe that is comfortable enough to wear all day but still gives you the stability you need when you're gripped out of your mind trying to place that dang .4.

The Pureflow has been my go-to road shoe for forever now. I think I started off with the Pureflow 4 and have been with them through the years. It fits my slightly supinated stride well, and I pretty much haven't had issues with it.

Okay, bias here again. But for what it's worth, I bought these before I worked for FF. These FF Down Booties are my favorite go-to's when I am spending the night outside in the winter season. With the shell being removable, you can keep the bulk really small if you want as well.

The Brook's Puregrit was my first trail shoe, and I had a couple iterations of them. I liked them! I chose them because with my road shoe already being the Pureflow, I figured the trail version would be good as well. T'was indeed true.

My Baruntse's are my big mountain boot, and the one I took on my climb to Aconcagua. Heavy. But warm. I don't use them unless I'm going into the single digit, to negative temperatures.

The Crow is my three season mountaineering boot. Super lightweight, stiff, and tough. I love it! Honestly though, it doesn't see much action, as I am usually wearing running shoes or ski boots when I am on snow.
